Since most toy hauler owners love their coaches and to dry-camp, Here is what I was going to do prior to buying an inverter/charger combination to satisfy my power needs:

WHAT IS WAS GOING TO DO:

• Upgrade the converter/charger from the stock one (less than 5 AMP) to a high output  40 AMP charger.  Just pull your old one out and plug the new one in.  Your batteries and wife and kids will thank you.  Here is one for example at Camping World.

WHAT I AM GOING TO DO:

• Instead, I got such a good deal on the Legend inverter/charger combination which has two 20 amp circuit breakers built in, I will be installing it instead.  I am going to set it up to run the garage plugs (which include the TV and Entertainment Center plugs), and the plugs in my bedroom.  The reality is that I won't be using it to run my A/C or my Microwave.   As soon as the unit detects an alternate power source (ie. generator or shore power), in stops "inverting" and begins charging the batteries.  I get the best of both worlds with this unit.  I have to find a place to mount it but that should not be that tuff.  I am still going to keep my 600 Watt Inverter for outside things like the lights.

Anybody who reads these message boards can figure out how to install it.   There are a lot of "gurus" here who are more than willing to help.
