It was a fantastic weekend out in Glamis at wash # 13.
After a some grumblings from the non-regulars about 20 mile drive to wash 13,
the group finally settled in as one unit. This weekend shall be known as
the weekend of the wrench. Numerous vehicles were wrenched on and the
shade-tree mechanics finally got Jimmy Pitts' vehicle up and running and it
never ran better. Even "mijo's" new two-seater rail had some gremlins.
There is a new duner in the group and his name in Riley
Kirkpatrick. Mario did the Uncle thing and took him out in his rail and
got him used to the word "clutch" and "brake pedal." Needless to say,
Riley is hooked on first and second gear. The asking price for the new
rail, "An arm and a leg." It looks like I will have to go out and get my
Class-A license and a trailer and begin to pull doubles to support "our" new
habit.
It also looks like Lori will be getting a new motor after all
and Mark can now finally upgrade to a twin turbo motor. Any money on
whether or not we will find sugar in the motor since she was complaining that
she wanted a new motor because she just can't keep up with the boys.
As far as the crowds went, there weren't any. Most people
must have taken the holiday weekend off because wash 13 was pretty much vacant
from the outside of our circled wagons to the wash road. The dunes were
gorgeous and it was an injury free weekend - except for some people's
MasterCards. However, there was a rumor of some alleged swinging going on
or shall we say, almost going on. Mario's bar almost saw the bon-fire but
we were able to repair it after it fell over.
